Two-thirds of Britain’s farmland is made up of grasslands. For centuries they’ve been a sustainable source of healthy foods. Rightly, we’re now being urged to eat less meat for the sake of the planet and our own health. However, recent science still shows the meat and milk of grazing animals to be among the most healthy you can buy. And, properly managed, the herb-filled pastures they graze on can help store carbon in the soil and so protect the planet and its wildlife.
Join me as I visit some of the most beautiful parts of Britain and Europe, where skilled and committed people are producing the best foods in ways that safeguard our environment. On these pages we’ll invite you to become partners in their endeavours by choosing the foods they produce. By joining with them we’ll protect the planet for future generations. Maybe it’ll make our own lives a little richer, too.
